Telesis Global Solutions India - A strong and objective internal catalyst

The Background

Telesis Global Solutions is a fast growing IT products and services company with offices in the US and Middle East. Very strong in the BFSI domain, the company also is one of the leading implementation and solution partners for Infosys Finacle. Poised for steady growth, Telesis was looking for a firm, which would understand its unique culture and would be instrumental in positioning the company well internally well and also help in employee motivation.

The Brief

We were entrusted with the task of streamlining and improving employee communication and motivation through various means available besides very selective external messaging. They were keen that we act almost like a dedicated resource and provided us extensive infrastructure facilities in the office. Telesis was keen that overall, the efforts also address attrition rate which all of a sudden had started climbing

Our Recommendations
  • Position the focus and messaging as one naturally evolving from the growth posted by Telesis
  • Communicate the role of employees as central to this growth
  • Externally keep the messaging subtle so that in the future when the company aggressively opens up, it does not seem like a sudden spurt
  • Establish processes internally for better employee communication and also feedback
What we actually did?

Step1
  • Undertook an exhaustive employee survey comprising individual meetings with functional heads, group discussions separately with old and new employees.
  • Mapped key issues and factors affecting seamless communication and employee morale
  • Set priorities and got Board-level approval for a campaign consisting of a set of activities to address the same
Step 2
  • Launched an internal poster campaign to kick-off the internal communications campaign which was symbolic and indicative of the great times ahead with the organization growing
  • Launched an internal monthly newsletter called “Televoice” and drove employee ownership and participation
  • Conceptualized and initiated activities like monthly employee meetings, team dinners, “Lunch with the CEO” etc.
  • Added value to the monthly meetings by having an external invitee talking of a general topic every meeting
  • Initiated “Thought for the day”
Step 3
  • For external messaging, we did one interview with Economic Times on plans, another with Express Computers on CEO profile and issued a press release on them winning an Infosys award
  • We also convinced and coordinated a quarter page recruitment advertisement in The Hindu for branding and visibility purposes
  • We also managed the visit of two delegations of the biggest overseas customer of Telesis, sketching their schedule and micro management of their stay/entertainment
