At PRHUB, we have long held the belief that organizations like people have a strong and unique DNA which is often not captured and if captured, not done well. It is been something that has been bothering us, as we felt discovery of that DNA and persuasive statement of it is quite important to any entrepreneur or CEO committed to building a sustainable business.

The answer came from unexpected quarters – one of our clients. As we began the engagement of the client, we realized that if we began communicating of them as they are they would be undifferentiated in a growing and highly competitive marketspace. And that led to the realization that if we don’t look hard enough inside for figuring that differentiating factor and package it well, external communication or marketing will not have the required punch.

In partnership with the client, we began evolving a framework to discover the organization’s essence – who they are, what they do?, how different they are?, how that difference translates business-wise, what their ultimate aspiration is? etc. among others.  Eleven senior executives who run the company between them were then sent a questionnaire that aimed to capture their answers to these questions. We then locked all of us into a room for a half-day session with the collated answers engaging in an intense discussion of each of these facets. PRHUB played the role of a moderator prodding and probing to ensure what we let remain on the board was something real, validated and something the entire team believed in and agreed upon. Slowly but clearly the essence emerged and the path became clear and their business positioning even clearer. The client was thrilled and the management team happy with the exercise. Things seemed more clear than ever before.

Driving back to office, we were excited by what we saw and by what happened inside those locked doors. It dawned on us that inadvertently we have developed a tool/framework or methodology with which we can in a structured manner engage companies of all hues and sizes in an intense discovery process for clarity. Having done three such discovery engagements for companies in varied industry segments, our belief in the method and the value has only grown. Leading to the birth of VISIONeering, which is a separate packaged offering of PRHUB.

We take VISIONeering and the collective time spent by the senior management team very seriously. And are emphatic that it is NOT a 10000 ft. kite flying exercise which fills our coffers and offers some transient temporal high to senior management.  That is why it is now led by only one person within PRHUB – its Founder & CEO. It is customized – except the method and approach, everything else is dependent on the mandate of the company we are engaging. Our role is immensely clear – we are qualified and experienced moderators and facilitators who help the organizations discover themselves in a journey that is very rewarding.

We also undertake to draft Vision and Mission statements out of the exercise besides doing a separate session to have the middle management or the entire organization aligned to that vision or positioning. If need be, we can extend the mandate to a spread campaign that permeates and communicates this vision or business purpose statement.

We know and are confident that VISIONeering is just the beginning. And that it is a must for every organization which aspires to be visionary, play the business game differently and whose motives or aspirations are extraordinary.
