iZone
Most IT companies have a space devoted for library comprising of book racks, tables and chairs. When faced with the need to do something really special and related to innovation to coincide with the 10th anniversary of SSDI, the team at PRHUB hit upon a simple but powerful idea. Why not convert the existing library into something totally out of the box and make it a surprise gift for all SSDIans. The idea took quick shape as i-zone (Innovation zone) and it was dejavu when the client bought the idea. The real challenge began soon after – what kind of space we needed to create, how and what should be there (and where?) etc. It helped that we had a creative team led by Om Raturi
which could sculpt, sketch, draw besides intimate knowledge of production. Om and the trio of Emilee/Mukunda and Paramesh got to work with a difficult deadline of 10 working days.

A large glass innovation wall where employees can write or post their ideas, easels that allow one to experiment and play with their creativity, an eclectic selection of best sellers on creativity and innovation, labyrinth maze, puzzles, rubic cube, gym ball that you can roll over and exercise, tantric/yogic music besides videos on innovation playing on a LCD screen PC loaded with design software among others adorn this interesting space
we have put together. To ensure a sense of freedom and lack of formalism we replaced tables/chairs with multi-color bean bags for seating. For inspiration on the walls we turned to optical art, renaissance, abstract art to black & white caricature of some of the biggest names in Indian filmdom. On the window side, we have hung framed Escher delusion paintings.

I-zone is psychedelic as you enter, comfortable as you settle down, soothing as you listen to the soft music so as to let your mind wander in search of ideas and new answers. On the anvil are a series of activities to ensure i-zone lives upto its promise.
