SOLARCON India 2011 Kicks Off on November 9 in Hyderabad— Focusing on Widening Solar Value Chain |
Bangalore, India, November 4, 2011 — SOLARCON India 2011, the third edition of India’s largest solar energy focused event organized by SEMI India will commence on November 9, 2011 at HICC Hyderabad. SOLARCON India and comprises an exhibition, a conference and parallel technical events. The theme for this year’s exposition, representing the widening solar value chain in India, is “Showcasing the Solar Eco-System: From Polysilicon to Power Plants.” Featuring more than 70 speakers drawn from the industry, academia and government, the conference is themed "Charting India's Roadmap to Solar Leadership— Translating Potential into Reality." The conference attracts high-profile participation of solar energy leaders from all segments of the industry supply chain, academia and governments from India and around the world.
The event is certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce, and features an exclusive U.S. Pavilion with 14 leading U.S. companies participating. A 35-member Clean Tech delegation, led by the U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce for international trade, Francisco J. Sanchez, will be present at the inauguration of the show. The conference includes an LED summit (co-organized with Frost & Sullivan) and a short technical course on “Grid Connected Solar PV Systems” (held in collaboration with National Centre for PV Research and Education). In addition, First Solar is sponsoring a half-day Technology Seminar.
The Honorable Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, Dr Farooq Abdullah, is expected to be the chief guest at the inauguration of the three day exposition and conference and the Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy has been invited to preside. Shri G.B. Pradhan, IAS, Secretary, MNRE, Francisco J. Sanchez, U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce, K. Subramanya, Chairperson, SEMI India PV Advisory Committee, James G. Brown, President, Utility Systems Business Group, First Solar, will be among those present at the inauguration..
Dr. Bharat Bhargava, Dir PV, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Govt. of India, Dr. Josef J. Haase, CEO Cell & Module, Centrotherm PV and James G. Brown (president, Utility Systems Business Group, First Solar) will deliver inaugural keynotes.
