Star Clinics organizes Diabetes screening and consultation camp from November 14th-30th 'Dawn to dusk' personalized consultation, focused on primary detection and prevention

Star Clinics, a multi-specialty family clinic chain in Chennai will organize a 'dawn to dusk' diabetes screening and consultation camp from November 14th to November 30th, to mark the occasion of 'World Diabetes Day' on 14th November. A comprehensive screening package including physical examination, blood sugar( fasting/post prandial), fasting lipid profile, urine for microalbuminuria, ECG, Serum Creatinine will be provided at a subsidized fee, across Star Clinics' five outlets in Chennai at Velachery, Mandavelli, Nanganallur, Thiruvanmiyur & Kodambakkam. In addition, personalized, early detection and preventive healthcare consultation will be provided on appointment with an expert panel of diabetologists.

Mr. Ananth, COO, Star Clinics said that India has a large number of diabetics and might soon become the diabetes capital of the world. "The screening initiative by Star Clinics is a drive, taken to address the growing rise of diabetes among the young and urban population in India due to their lifestyles. Earlier we used to deal with diabetics in their 40s and 50s, now we get patients in their late 20s or 30s. If nothing is done to slow this epidemic, the number of diabetics in India would exceed to 57 million by 2025".
